With all kinds of different products and theories being thrown around the Internet regarding being able to make your penis bigger, there is one question that we ultimately need to ask. Does penis enlarging actually work? Knowing the answer to this question makes perfect sense because, after all, if there is scientific proof that nothing can change, then why bother throwing a lot of money at all kinds of products and ideas that are pointless? So, can you actually do anything?
Who Would Not Want To Be Bigger?
Studies have shown that most men would indeed love to be bigger than they currently are and that alone accounts for the huge market in products that claim to boost size. Some would argue that it is directly linked to their ego, but in actual fact there is a certain amount of anxiety attached to what a guy thinks about the size of his penis, so it is perhaps understandable as to why so many want to do something about it.
The Average Size
Here is the interesting part. Guys often make mistakes regarding the average size of the male penis. Research has shown that it is anywhere between five and six inches when erect and indeed most guys do indeed fall within those particular limits.
The problem here is that men often get the wrong idea about their size and it is all to do with how they view it. In all honesty, it is difficult to get an accurate idea just by looking at it from above and this wrong idea can actually lead to some guys developing a form of body dysmorphia, but based entirely around their penis. Indeed, it is believed that the majority of men that go ahead and have some form of corrective surgery, or buy a number of products, suffer from this dysmorphia and all that is wrong is that they have the wrong perception of their penis size.
So Do These Enlargement Products Work?
So while we now understand that there is a desire amongst men to increase the size of their penis, and the reasons behind it, we need to see if these products do indeed work.
There are a number of them out there from creams, to pills, to pumps, and of course surgery and the outcome tends to be very varied depending on the product. First, the penis pump draws in more blood to the penis and this does, in turn, make it bigger than before. However, the results will often tend to be rather short lived and there is a worry that extensive use may ultimately lead to the penis being damaged.
Some guys will also look at hanging weights from their flaccid penis and the problem here is that it has to be done for an extended period of time over a number of weeks. However, this has been shown to increase length by up to half an inch although great care has to be taken to make sure that the tissue is not torn as a direct result.
The biggest market is undoubtedly pills, creams, and ointments and with this you certainly need to be careful as to which one you choose. It is best to look at reviews, and read a number of them, to see if there is something that is suitable for you. Some argue that there is no scientific evidence to support their claims, but others state that they did indeed see a difference in the size of their penis.
Finally, there is penis enlargement surgery and there is no doubt that this can increase the size of your penis. The most common form of surgery is for the ligament connecting the penis to the pelvic bone to be cut allowing more of the shaft to be seen. Also, to increase the width of the penis, fat or silicone can be injected into it although clearly this has to be done by a professional.
What we are saying is that there are a number of different ways that you can at least try to increase the size of your penis, but the success rate varies a great deal depending on the method used. The key here is to do your research before you go ahead and actually do anything and to understand the potential risks prior to trying to change a part of your body.
